Remid Vis

Remid Vis is a precision manufacturing company specializing in metal components - gears, shafts, custom industrial parts. The day-to-day reality of this kind of shop is that quotes and production tracking happen on whiteboards, in printed PDFs, and inside the heads of senior operators. We were asked to translate that institutional knowledge into a system the team could actually use.

The product

The core is a quote engine. A sales person enters part specs - material, dimensions, tolerances, finishing, quantity - and the system computes a price based on machining time, material cost, and configurable margin rules. The same record then flows into production: a job traveler is printed, machines are scheduled, and progress is tracked station by station.

Each saved configuration becomes a reusable template. Repeat orders take seconds. Variations of a known part autofill from history. Over time the system has become a living library of how this shop quotes and builds.

What changed

Quotes that used to take half a day now take minutes. Production schedule conflicts are caught before parts hit the floor. Most importantly, the knowledge of how to price and plan a job is no longer locked inside two senior people - it is in the software, ready for the next hire.
