SynKey

SynKey is an online school for finance and accounting. Running a paid course programme means doing three jobs at once: producing the material, proving that students actually worked through it, and collecting the money. Most off-the-shelf learning tools do the first well and the other two badly.

Apparo built SynKey as a single platform where the course catalogue, the assessment engine, access control and payment all live in one system, administered end to end from one panel and without developer involvement for day to day work.

What We Built

Course Builder

Courses, modules, lessons and tests are created, edited and reordered directly from the admin panel. A course is a set of modules, and each module holds its video material and several tests. Adding a new course to the catalogue needs no code and no deployment.

Verified Video Progress

Video lessons cannot be skipped on the first pass: seeking forward is disabled until the lesson has been watched through. The platform records how much of each lesson a user has actually consumed, so completion is a measured fact rather than a checkbox someone ticked. For a school teaching a regulated profession, that is the difference between a record that holds up and one that does not.

Assessment Engine

Tests are assembled in the panel from several question types and attached at module level. Results feed the same progress record that drives course completion, so one view answers both what a student has watched and what they have passed.

Roles, Access and Trials

The platform has full role based access control. Trial users are approved individually from the admin panel, which keeps access to paid material a deliberate decision rather than an automatic grant.

Payments and Bank Integration

Payment is integrated directly with the bank. Enrolment, payment and access to content are one flow rather than three steps stitched together by hand.

Configurable Email Automation

The team writes its own emails and decides which action triggers which message: enrolment, payment, completion, expiry. Changing a message or adding a new trigger does not require a developer.

The Outcome

SynKey runs its whole operation from one panel: new courses, assessments, student access, payments and communication. The catalogue can grow without engineering support, and every completion the platform reports is backed by a record of what the student actually did.
